Caregiver Spotlight: Stephanie Curtis

For 14 years, Stephanie Curtis has been making a difference in the lives of patients and families, combining skill, compassion, and unwavering dedication in every shift she works.

Stephanie’s journey began as a brand-new graduate RN at UCLA in Los Angeles, where she dove headfirst into the high-intensity world of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU). For over a decade, she provided specialized, lifesaving care to some of the most vulnerable patients, while also being a steady source of comfort for their families.

Three years ago, Stephanie brought her expertise to the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in Minneapolis, MN. Here, she continues to thrive in a fast-paced, highly skilled environment—one where her calm presence and deep knowledge make all the difference.

When asked what she loves most about being a caregiver, Stephanie shares:

“The best part about being a caregiver is getting to be a vital source of knowledge, stability, and comfort for patients and their families during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.”

And here’s a fun fact that shows just how committed Stephanie is to her roots—despite living in Minneapolis for the past three years, she remains a per diem staff member at UCLA. A few times a year, she hops on a plane to Los Angeles to work side-by-side with her longtime friends and colleagues.

“It’s always an amazing feeling, stepping back into my home unit and working alongside my close friends and co-workers again,” she says.

Whether in Minneapolis or Los Angeles, Stephanie’s passion for pediatric critical care, her dedication to her patients, and her loyalty to her team shine through in every moment she spends at the bedside.
