A perfect day in Washington DC…
Before you begin your day at the State Capitol, visit the Eastern Market
You’ll need some fuel for the day and we suggest you start at one of the local’s favorites: The Eastern Market. This market provides coffee, food, and a look into the local life around DC. Then head over to the State Capitol for your historical 90-minute tour through the National Statuary Hall, the Old Supreme Court Chamber, and the Old Senate Chamber.
Spend your afternoon visiting history
Stop at The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, filled with the fascinating history and science of aviation and spaceflight. Many space and aircraft on display are originals such as the Wright brother’s Wright Flyer and the Apollo 11 Command Module Columbia.
Afterwards, be sure to check out the National Museum of American History! This museum houses a beautiful collection of America’s historical achievements, anything from the Star-Spangled Banner to the original Nintendo Game Boy.
Finish your afternoon by walking around the Washington Monument and riding the elevator 555 feet to the top for the best views of Washington DC. Pay tribute and marvel at the 30-foot marble statue of Lincoln at the Lincoln memorial and then make your way to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. Take a moment to read the incredible inspirational quotes in memorial to one of the nation’s greatest voices for civil rights.
End the day by passing by the White House and getting dinner
Wrap up the day by walking by the White House and getting one last tour in. Then head over to Old Ebbitt Grill to finish the day out with their renowned Aunt Dotty Oysters or Classic Soft-Shell Crab Sandwich!

Star Wars fans beware! The National Cathedral hosts many gargoyle statues including one with Darth Vader as its head. Look for it on the Northwest side of the tower.
